Frequently asked questions

How do I create an account?

Download the app. Sign up with phone or email. Pick Fighter, Coach, Parent / Guardian, or Official. Email sign-up requires phone verification.

I picked the wrong role.

Coaches can add Official (and the reverse) in Profile. Fighter vs Parent vs Coach is the account you train/parent/coach with — contact support if you truly need it changed.

How does matchmaking work?

Coaches search Find Sparring for their roster and message the other gym. Coaches with a gym (and officials) can run Quick matchmaking and promote it to a public show. Fighters do not search opponents themselves.

Who registers a fighter for an event?

The coach. Fighters and parents cannot self-register.

What’s the difference between an in-app event and a flyer?

A flyer promotes an event that lives outside the app (poster, comments, bout-sheet PDFs). An in-app event is a card you run in Boxing Network — registration, bout sheet, brackets, live.

Do I need a gym to post?

Community flyer: no. Sparring in-app event: no. Show or tournament: yes — Profile → Edit → Register Gym first, or join a gym.

Can I put a poster on an in-app event?

Yes. Create Event → Event flyer (optional). That is the cover image, not a community flyer.

Can fighters register from a community flyer?

No. Only an in-app event has in-app registration, and the coach does it.

I already registered my gym and still don’t see Show/Tournament.

Confirm Profile is no longer Unattached and Team says My Gym. Then Create Event → Event Type.

How are bout sheets generated?

The organizer registers fighters, then builds or auto-matches the card. The bout sheet is that card. Tournaments also build brackets; the organizer chooses when those go public.

How do I watch a fight?

Open the event or Home → Live now → Watch live. You need to be signed in.

How do parents get access?

A fighter, coach, or gym shares an invite code. Parent Profile → Link with invite code.

Can I pay the door in the app?

No. If the organizer listed Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal on the event, pay them there and confirm at the door.

I found a bug.

I grew up in the Houston boxing community, training and coaching at my family’s gym. I’ve watched fighters and coaches drown in DMs and group chats. I’ve had sparring sessions fall through and lost evenings of work. I’ve seen shows go to event day with a bout sheet that was only half full.

Boxing Network is the tool I wished existed when I was looking for sparring, scouting gyms in a new city when we've traveled for nationals, or when we were trying to matchmake for an event. I graduated Hamilton College, NY, with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics and combined my passion for boxing with my technical expertise to create Boxing Network.

The story

Built in the gym.

Boxing Network started after one too many missed fights. A camp ends, a fighter is ready, and the bout falls through because the right opponent never saw the call. Or a gym puts on a show and the room is half-empty because the flyer lived in three group chats and a facebook group where everyone is doing the exact same thing.

We're fighters and coaches who got tired of running the business of boxing on tools built for everything else. Sparring shouldn't take a week of DMs. A bout sheet shouldn't live only on a spreadsheet. Finding a gym in a new city shouldn't require knowing someone who knows someone.

So we built the network we wanted to fight in. One app. Every gym, every fighter, every event, every corner — pulled together, still local, still ours.
